A powerful opening tune for the album, the film, and many concerts at this time. This song makes good use of the new generation of synthesisers that the band were so enthusiastically embracing in 1972. This piece opens and closes the film La Vallée. It is a different recording than on the album, including organ riffs from Rick between the guitar riffs. In addition, it has a more pronounced bass beat. The version which opens the film is 2.35, focusing mainly on the powerful rhythmic section of the theme. The version at the end is 4.59 (these are probably two different cuts of the same recording), with a lot more synth buildup before the piece fades out not long after the rhythmic part of the theme begins.
