Small Theme

Small Theme 6:35
     (written by David Gilmour)

Instrumental

A very mellow synth piece, eventually repetitive, which is heavily covered with voice-overs in La Carrera Panamericana. It is basically a quiet version of Big Theme, with much less guitar, and a few other differences. We see the aftermath of an several accidents, including one involving Dave and Steve O'Rourke. They went into a turn too fast, and went right over a cliff, landing upside down. This might not be so bad, except that a 1952 'C' type Jaguar has no roof! Steve broke his leg, and Dave escaped miraculously unscathed.

"The general feeling seems to be that they're incredibly lucky to have gotten away so lightly," says Nick.

The race has ended, and Nick and Val Lindsay came in eighth place. Nick Mason: "I'm thrilled with that... all I could have asked for." Dave and Steve, of course, did not finish.
