Instrumental

The extended instrumental jam which makes up this section is of course quite different from the later album cut, due to its largely improvisational nature. This early version has a much slower tempo (as is evident throughout the song cycle), and a more bluesy musical feel, with more emphasis on the guitar and less on the synths. In addition, it is markedly less electric in its feel, more acoustic and mellow, and significantly longer. The piece ends with a return to the chords of Breathe (sort of a 30 second Breathe Reprise) before segueing into The Dark Side of the Moon.
