Now we start at the beginning of Pink's story — his infant home, shot in East Moseley. Then we quickly cut into the aftermath of the battle depicted in In the Flesh?, followed by a return to the Pink's hotel room and pool outside, complete with a computerized backdrop of the lights of L.A.

This scene features camerawork inspired by Abel Gance in his silent feature Napolean. The shot of Pink in the pool flashing across the screen was achieved by actually suspending a camera from a pendulum over the pool.
