When the Tigers Broke Free (Part 1) 2:28
(written by Roger Waters)
Lyrics:
(See When the Tigers Broke Free, verse one.)
This is an entirely new song written and recorded originally for the Wall album in 1979 but left off. It is split into two parts for the film, but was also released on single (see separate entry) in its original form as one song.
A flashback now, to 1944 and the Battle of Anzio. This song is a faithful recounting (along with Part 2) of how Eric Fletcher Waters gave his life in defense of his country, and the pain his death caused the son he never knew.
